Remington Owners,
Remington Year of Manufacture Codes maybe found on the barrel of your Remington rifle [or shotgun] on the left side, just forward of the receiver; the first letter of the Code is the month of manufacture, followed by one or two letters which are the year of manufacture. For shotguns with removeable barrels, the code will be valid for the manufacture of the barrel; maybe for the receiver, as barrels do get switched around.
According to the 'Blue Book of Gun Values', the coding continues as follows:

The next one or two letters represent the year of manufacture, which you can look up using Remington Serial Number Lookup. For shotguns with removable barrels, the code on the barrel represents the date of manufacture of the barrel, which may not match the date of manufacture of the receiver. Rem-Rand Serial Numbers Data from Remington Rand Corporation Records of Advertising and Sales Promotion archived at Hagley Museum and Library Appendix I Typewriter Manufacture Dates and Serial Numbers. I bought a 7mag serial # 25XXX a few years ago to do a custom build, called Remington they confirmed it was a 1962 model first year of the 7mag,,,,,chop,cut rebuild,,,, now its a 7mmSTW and no I never looked back or felt bad about what I did.
I traded for a Remington 700 375 H&H Mag. I have tried to figure out the exact model, year, and price of the gun but get confused by the markings and am getting different stories. It has the 'trap door' under the mag and a patter on the bolt. It also has a Leupold vari X III 1.5-5 scope on it. Any help figuring out what it is and what the round about worth would be great. I am thinking of selling cause I think it is a little too big for what I am probably going to use it for. Here are some pics to help. Thank you for any help in advance.
